01Environmental impact study
Assessing the effects of a project on its surroundings.

Impact studies, environmental audits, water resources and engineering works for the mining, oil and public sectors in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
They have trusted us
EWES grew out of the Environment Centre of the University of Lubumbashi–Society Interface, working with Belgian, French and Canadian partners. Its team brings together Congolese and international experts.
The company has established itself in drawing up and assessing the environmental plans of mining and oil projects. It studies natural and man-made risks, develops sites, supports environmental compliance and trains the sector’s managers and technicians.

First referenced impact assessment (EIES-PGEP), for Kisenge Manganèse.
First training seminar on the mining environment, with the UNILU–Society Interface.
Support for the LAE/UNILU Environmental Analysis Laboratory in obtaining its approval and accreditation.
Survey for the national CSR barometer of mining companies in Haut-Katanga and Lualaba.
Each area builds on the previous one: environmental data shape water management, which in turn guides our engineering works.
Mining, oil and mineral sectors
Feasibility studies, optimisation of operating conditions, environmental incidence studies.
The Congolese State
Environmental audits, restoration of polluted sites, characterisation of deposits on concessions to be awarded.
Continuing education
Coaching and refresher training for staff and managers of mining and mineral companies based in the DRC.
Researcher supervision
Support for private and public sector researchers in environment, water and engineering works.

Water management within industrial processes.
Alongside the environment and water activities, EWES carries out engineering works: analytical instruments, building construction, IT and electricity.
We measure before we conclude: our recommendations rest on data collected, analysed and modelled locally.
Analysis of the project and the applicable environmental obligations, then definition of the study scope.
On-site surveys and sampling of water, soil and air.
Analyses, data processing and modelling of how the environment may evolve under different scenarios.
Impact assessments, management plans, annual reports and remediation plans, followed by training for your teams so the results last.
